The Rockport Public Library’s Let’s Feel Better in 2026 series continues on Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 1 p.m. with a presentation by author and authenticity coach Suzanne Carver. In Story as Medicine, Carver invites participants to explore the stories they tell — about themselves, their past, and what they believe is possible — and how those stories quietly shape the way they live. Rather than focusing on writing technique, this interactive talk centers on awareness, reflection, and choice: noticing which narratives support us, which ones limit us, and where we have the power to consciously reshape the stories we’re living by. Through guided reflection and simple, accessible exercises, participants will learn how to reframe self-talk, loosen the grip of inherited or outdated stories, and expand the way they see themselves and their lives. No writing experience is required — just curiosity and a willingness to look at your story with fresh eyes. Suzanne Carver is the founder of The True YOU Blog and the author of the novel Flight Path, which Kirkus Reviews called “a domestic thriller with heart…riveting.” A graduate of Camden-Rockport High School, she now works as an authenticity coach, teacher, speaker, and guide for people on their journey of self-discovery. She is also a... |

Artificial intelligence is no longer an abstract idea—it’s a practical tool that can make everyday tasks easier. In this friendly, one-hour session, we’ll break down what AI is (in plain English), show simple real-life examples, and explore how it can help with things like writing messages, planning trips, understanding documents, or learning new skills. No technical background is required, just curiosity. ABOUT THE PRESENTER: Anastasia Fischer is a Maine-based product strategist and consultant who has spent 20+ years helping organizations use technology in practical, human-centered ways. She previously led US Harbors, growing it into a nationally recognized coastal weather platform, and now works with nonprofits, small businesses, and rural communities to help them navigate emerging technologies with confidence and clarity. |

On Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 6 p.m., Camden resident Francis Boscoe will give a presentation at the Rockport Public Library detailing his experiences hiking “The Way of St. Francis” in Italy during the fall of 2025. Many thousands of pilgrims walk the “Camino de Santiago” across Spain each year. Boscoe decided to select a similar, less traveled European pilgrimage. “The Way of St. Francis” (Via San Francesco), from Florence to Assisi to Rome, sees only a small fraction of the Camino visitors, yet has comparable amenities. Through photos and stories, Boscoe will recount his 333 mile walk through the central Apennines, and provide information to the audience as to how they too can follow in the footsteps of St. Francis. Francis Boscoe is a geographer, musician, poet, and substitute math teacher. He has attended language-immersion school in Italy in each of the last three years, and has taught Italian for beginners through Five Town CSD Adult Ed. |
