    Whether you are looking for the perfect gift or curating a stack of cozy reads to get you through the winter, the deals and selection offered at the Friends of the Rockport Public Library’s December Book Sale are unbeatable! The sale will be held in the library’s lower level on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 5 and 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Shoppers can browse thousands of gently used books, DVDs, CDs, audio books, puzzles, vinyl records, and more! Most items are priced between $.50 and $5. For the ultimate bargain, visitors are invited to purchase a Friends of the Rockport Public Library membership for $20, which includes a new purple tote bag that can be filled, for no extra cost. The totes can be refilled at future 2026 book sales for only $10. Ask for details at the sale. All proceeds from the book sale will benefit the Rockport Library. Volunteers are needed to make the event a success. To sign up for a shift, stop by the library or call 207-236-3642.     Mahjong or mah-jongg (English pronunciation: mah-JONG) is a tile-based game that was developed in the 19th century in China and has spread throughout the world since the early 20th century. It is commonly played by four players (with some three-player variations). This group meets on Fridays, at 10:00 AM for approximately 90-120 minutes.
