Rockport Room (Lower Level)Do you knit, spin, crochet, embroider, felt, or practice other types of fiber arts? Would you like to work on your projects alongside other like-minded enthusiasts? This lively group is a great place to ask questions, share tips, and enjoy the company of other fiber artists. This group meets on 1st, 3rd, and 5th Tuesdays, at 3:00 PM for approximately 90-120 minutes.

Toddler Story Time
Children's RoomWe will be learning shapes, colors, numbers, and moving our bodies. Ideal for ages 2-3.
Tech Help Hour
Marine RoomJust drop in during our Tech Help Hour, and a staff member will assist you with whatever your tech needs are. We can help with anything from basic computer questions to using your IPad with the Maine Download Library. This free service is offered every Thursday at 4:00 PM.

September Book Sale
Rockport Room (Lower Level)It’s time to put away the “beach reads” and stock up on books to cozy up with. The Friends of Rockport Public Library (FRPL) will hold their third book sale of the year on Friday, Sept. 19, and Saturday, Sept. 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Thousands of gently used books, audiobooks, DVDs, CDs, and puzzles will fill the library’s lower level. Most items in the sale are priced between $.50 and $5, with all proceeds directly benefiting the library. FRPL members are encouraged to bring their red totes for a $10 refill. Only checks and cash can be accepted at the sale. Volunteers are needed for help with table and book set up, cashiering, and clean up. An Evening with Sebastian Junger
Rockport Opera HouseThe Rockport Library Foundation is excited to welcome award-winning journalist, director, and best-selling author Sebastian Junger for a talk at the Rockport Opera House on Friday, September 19, at 6:30 p.m. Known for riveting and emotionally compelling books like The Perfect Storm, War, and Tribe, Junger will present his latest book, In My Time of Dying. His near-fatal health emergency lead to this powerful reflection on death—and what might follow. The book is part medical drama, part searing autobiography, and part rational inquiry into the ultimate unknowable mystery. Barswallow Books will offer a selection of Junger’s books for sale and signing at the event following the presentation. The event is free and open to the public, but seating is limited.
