The Library will be CLOSING EARLY AT 11:00 AM on Friday, December 19 so that our staff can attend the annual Town of Rockport Holiday Party.

Interlibrary Loan & Reciprocal Borrowing

Interlibrary Loan

The Rockport Public Library participates in an Interlibrary Loan service (ILL). If you are looking for a book that is presently checked out of the Rockport Library, or we don’t carry it, you can request that the book be sent to the Rockport Library from another library in Maine.

If you are searching our catalog and see that we don’t have what you are looking for, simply hit the “Request” button at the top left of the screen. You will be prompted to enter your name and library card number. The Rockport Library will then notify you when your item arrives. It usually only takes a couple of days!

Library catalog search result for Dead by Dawn showing options to request a book. A red box highlights an unavailable copy; green arrows indicate that other copies can be requested from different libraries.

Maine Reciprocal Borrowing Program

The Maine Reciprocal Borrowing Program expands on Maine’s Interlibrary Loan service to allow patrons from participating libraries to visit other libraries in the program and check out books in person.
