It’s Not Just Hearing – It’s Brain Health
August 26 @ 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM

The Rockport Public Library welcomes back Angela Loavenbruck, EdD for a presentation about hearing loss and updates related to new hearing aid technologies. The program will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 26, at 6 p.m. The talk is free and open to the public.
“Hearing loss is one of the most common chronic conditions in older adults,” says Dr. Loavenbruck, “and it is one that people often ignore for more than 10 years after hearing difficulties are apparent.” The talk will address common types of hearing loss, and the social, emotional, and cognitive effects that hearing loss can have. Information about the most important aspects of hearing evaluations and hearing aid fitting techniques will be outlined.
Dr. Loavenbruck will also discuss new technology and exciting advancements in hearing aids — for example, their ability to connect to other sound systems to help people hear better in difficult listening environments.
Angela Loavenbruck has been an audiologist for more than 50 years.
