The Rockport Public Library Poets’ Corner will host a celebration of the second volume of the Midcoast Poetry Journal on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 6 p.m. in the lower level of the Rockport Public Library. The new volume is a collection of poems by nearly fifty Midcoast poets. The public is invited to enjoy readings by the contributing poets followed by an open mic. Copies of the journal will be available for purchase at the event (just in time for the holidays)! Whether you are looking for the perfect gift or curating a stack of cozy reads to get you through the winter, the deals and selection offered at the Friends of the Rockport Public Library’s December Book Sale are unbeatable! The sale will be held in the library’s lower level on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 5 and 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Shoppers can browse thousands of gently used books, DVDs, CDs, audio books, puzzles, vinyl records, and more! Most items are priced between $.50 and $5. For the ultimate bargain, visitors are invited to purchase a Friends of the Rockport Public Library membership for $20, which includes a new purple tote bag that can be filled, for no extra cost. The totes can be refilled at future 2026 book sales for only $10. Ask for details at the sale. All proceeds from the book sale will benefit the Rockport Library. Volunteers are needed to make the event a success. To sign up for a shift, stop by the library or call 207-236-3642.
