The Friends of Rockport Public Library (FRPL) will hold their second big book sale of the year on Friday, June 12, and Saturday, June 13, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Located in the lower level of the Rockport Public Library, the sale will run in tandem with the Town of Rockport’s Fourth Annual Donut Festival.

Tables will be filled with thousands of books, spanning a wide variety of genres — fiction, mystery, history, biography, cookbooks, gardening, art, Maine, children, young adult, and a large selection of “specials.” DVDs, CDs, puzzles, and more will also be available, with most items priced between $.50 and $5. Selections will be refreshed often.

“In the past year, some of FRPL’s book sale revenue helped fund the building and installation of Little Free Libraries at Penobscot Bay YMCA, MaineHealth Pen Bay Hospital Beebe Health Center, and at Mid-Coast Recreation Center,” said Ben Blackmon, Director of the Rockport Public Library. “The outreach project was in partnership with students at the Mid-Coast School of Technology and offers the public access to free books in community hubs outside of the library.”

FRPL is also sponsoring the Rockport Library Donut Dash 5K on June 13, at 8:00 a.m. Proceeds from the run will support the library as well.

Only checks and cash will be accepted at the sale. Volunteers are needed for help with table and book set up, cashiering, and clean-up. Please contact the library at 236-3642 for more information.
